Acceptable Use Policy – Affisend

We’re in this thing together. The actions individual Members take can have a big impact on our system as a whole. That’s why all Affisend Members must follow this Acceptable Use Policy in their use of Affisend. If you violate this policy, we may suspend or terminate your account. We may also suspend or terminate accounts according to our Terms of Use where we see behaviour, content, or other factors that pose a threat to our platform. If a term is capitalised in this Acceptable Use Policy but isn’t defined, it has the meaning given to it in our Terms of Use.

Prohibited Content

Please don’t use Affisend to distribute anything offensive, to promote anything illegal, or to harass anyone. You may not use Affisend to create, send, display, advertise, or sell (as applicable):

  • Illegal goods or services
  • Emails that violate the CAN-SPAM act or other anti-spam laws
  • Pornography or sexually explicit content
  • Campaigns promoting or supporting terrorism or violent extremism
  • Counterfeit products or products that infringe intellectual property rights
  • Products claiming to prevent, treat, or cure COVID-19 without regulatory approval
  • Products in demand due to COVID-19 with excessive pricing or that are prohibited by law

Some industries have higher-than-average abuse complaints, which can jeopardise deliverability. We may not allow businesses offering these:

  • Escort services or international marriage brokers
  • Hookup, swinger, or sexual encounter sites
  • Pharmaceutical products
  • Work-at-home scams or lead generation schemes
  • Gambling services or products
  • Multi-level marketing
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Credit repair or debt relief services
  • List brokers or rental services
  • Selling social media “Likes” or followers
  • Cryptocurrencies or ICO-related assets

Content Subject to Additional Scrutiny

Some types of content may cause higher-than-average abuse rates. We may closely review accounts offering:

  • Online trading or stock market tips
  • Daily horoscopes
  • Mortgages and loans
  • Nutritional, herbal, and vitamin supplements
  • Adult entertainment or novelty items
  • Online dating services
  • Real estate
  • Services that send mail programmatically on behalf of others
  • COVID-19 regulated products

If we identify abuse at our sole discretion, we may suspend, throttle, or disable the account.

Prohibited Actions

To help maintain our platform’s reputation, you may not:

  • Send Spam (bulk or 1:1 emails) without consent
    • You must have opt-in proof for all marketing emails
  • Use unlicensed or stolen content in campaigns
  • Use misleading sender information or subject lines
  • Share your password
  • Reverse engineer our software
  • Use our software to build a competing product
  • Send emails without Affisend’s unsubscribe mechanism
  • Set up duplicate accounts to send similar content
  • Upload sensitive data like SSNs or passwords
  • Send SMS or MMS via non-designated features
  • Use purchased or public email lists
  • Send or forward personal mail
  • Use Affisend content with other email services
  • Host images/content on our servers for unrelated purposes
  • Circumvent billing thresholds
  • Send bulk emails via Transactional (Mandrill)
    • Transactional is only for transactional email
  • Send bulk marketing emails via Affisend Inbox
    • Inbox is for 1:1 messages only
    • Use the Opt-out Footer to comply with laws
  • Sell counterfeit or IP-infringing products

Best Practices

As a global marketing platform, we must protect our customers and their contacts. To ensure a clean and safe platform, we enforce best practices available in our knowledge base. These include audience permission and sending guidelines.

You must use Affisend in accordance with these best practices. Violation may lead to account suspension or termination.
